We are very glad to announce that we are going to move to a new space on the occasion of our tenth anniversary. As the opening of new space, we will have a retrospective show by Chen Ruo Bing, looking back his twelve year's works since his debut until the present.

Born in China in 1970, Chen Ruo Bing now resides in Duesseldorf, Germany and Beijing, China. After studying Chinese traditional painting and calligraphy at National Academy of Fine Arts, Hangzhou in China, he moved to Germany in 1992. Since his graduation form the G. Graubner class at the Art Academy in Duesseldorf in 1998, Chen has exhibited his works in France, Germany, Netherland, Japan, Korea and China. In 2000 he invited to the United States under the artist-in-residence program at Josef and Anni Albers Foundation in Connecticut.

Ever since Chen was studying at the Art Academy in Duesseldorf, he paints simple geometric forms repeatedly on canvas, and gives equal value to the image and the background. This is his experiment to unite, in his painting, the tradition of Chinese paintings which is already a part of his nature, with the European modernism.

With his shallow, decorative painting space, with the delicate blot of acrylic which reminds us ink painting in China, simple geometric forms and bright color which evoke the sense of joy, and with the metaphysical light overflowing from the inside of the painting, Chen produces very unique and attractive paintings.

Now Chen has already spent nearly twenty years in Germany. It seems that he has obtained his own original painting style, easily jumped over the framework of confrontation of the East and the West however his fundamental stance is the same and consistent, which is a Chinese painter who is working in the middle of European modern culture. Lately the artist has interest in a concept of "body of light" and is creating works in new direction.

In 2006, Chen Ruo Bing had one person show at Shanghai Art Museum. In May "Chen Ruo Bing Museum" also named "House of Light", which displays only his works and Chinese antiques, opened in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province in China. In Japan, he joined in the three-person show titled "An Existence" at Shiseido Gallery in Tokyo. He periodically has exhibitions at One Moon Gallery in Beijing, Gallery KONG in Seoul, South Korea and Wellside Gallery in Shanghai and Seoul. His works are collected by museums in China and Korea. He is now getting great concern not only from Europe but also from Asian countries.

This is his seventh one-person show at taguchi fine art. About 20 works including some works lent from private collections in Japan, which is counted already more than 100 pieces, will be on view. Chen Ruo Bing is now 40 years old, sill at the early stage of artist's long carrier, but we can see in these paintings very distinguished techniques and quality of matured artist.
